I was talking to a real life Italian person a couple of weeks ago about clothes or summat, and as the conversation came around to music, he let me in on some of the bands he was into, so I told him he should check these guys out.
So I recently started writing a New Bands Column for Who’s Jack magazine. It’s pretty much like what I do here, but a bit more structured, and less swearing. You’ll recognise a few bands, I’ll probably have given them a mention here already. And you can pick up a copy in a shop/bar/club etc. Hopefully it’s something that will continue into next month, he desperately wished.
This weekend, I’m getting on a train and heading to North Wales for a wakeboarding festival, Wakestock to give it a name. Now I’m not a fan of water sports (ask my ex. Ho!!!!), but I am a fan of festivals.
Loads of shows this week and of course, I’m away for most of them! I fink I’m up at Wakestock Festvial next weekend, fingers crossed, it should be fun, but it looks like I am missing some great gigs.
The problem with leaving podcasts to build up, and then going through them all in a week presents one problem. You may think you’ve got the hottest band in the world, until you realise that they’ve been pretty everywhere.
So I thought I’d do things a little bit differently this year. I’ve been up and down, trying to figure out what were the best 10 records of the year so far, I had 20, which doesn’t really work, so the following at the 20th to 11th best records I’ve heard this year. I’ve done them in alphabetical order, otherwise I’d be here all night.
If you’d like to hear my Top 10, I’m going to post a podcast tomorrow, with a full rundown. Mull-tea-mee-jah!
I’ve been looking at the next few weeks coming up, well it is the Summer, I mean that’s what you do, you spend all winter waiting for the Summer and by the time it comes around, you don’t really know what you are doing!
